D-36 engines repair - restoration process

The extending operation time and more intensive use of D-36 engines increase the wear, erosion, and burning in their hot parts, primarily turbine rotor blades, sectors of nozzle block blades, and swirlers.
Specialists of the plant work out proposals and new technologies for restoring these parts during repairs.
After necessary studies and tests and upon reception of conclusions from Ivchenko-Progress and Motor-Sich, the plant introduces these new technologies.
In particular, the plant has introduced technologies for restoring the following parts:
- anti-vibration flanges of fan blades (by plasma spraying);
- guide vanes of high- and low-pressure compressors;
- intermediate cases;
- compressor air bleed valves;
- fan bearing cases;
- high-pressure compressor cases, etc. (see photos)
